Call for novel ideas

As it turns 25 this August, nongovernment organization Kaisa Para Sa Kaunlaran, Inc. will convene the 4th Tsinoy National Convention Aug. 30-Sept. 1 with the theme “Shared Destiny. Building New Bridges.”
Simultaneously, Kaisa has launched a competition for innovative project ideas that address the challenges of creating oneness among the ethnic Chinese and Filipinos.
The project ideas should address one or a combination of the following:
1) Increase awareness of the shared identity of ethnic Philippine Chinese and Filipinos;
2) Highlight similarities among Philippine multicultural heritages;
3) Increase incomes/income opportunities of underserved sectors;
4) Improve access of underserved sectors to health, education and disaster management services;
5) Promote alternative and sustainable lifestyles for our environment.
Project ideas shall be submitted by eligible organizations through its project team.
The team should have at least one Chinese-Filipino or Filipino-Chinese youth aged 18- 40, with a Chinese name or studied in a Tsinoy school, resident of the Philippines and presently a bona fide member of the participating eligible organization.
The invitation is open to socio-civic organizations, family associations, alumni associations of any Tsinoy schools, academe-based organizations, student organizations, nongovernment organizations and faith-based or interfaith organizations
Kaisa may request the organization to present or submit proof of registration with the Security and Exchange Commission and other documents.
Project ideas will be judged for innovation, scalability or replicability, volunteer engage-ment and potential impact.
Initial proposals should be presented as a brief concept paper with a maximum three pages, Calibri font, font size 11.
Submission deadline is July 15.
Eligible project ideas will be shortlisted.
Kaisa may provide opportunities for project teams of shortlisted entries to research in the Chin Ben See Memorial Library/Kaisa Research & Databank in Intramuros, or to consult with mentors or technical experts on social development.
Finalists shall submit more detailed proposals in a live presentation before a panel of judges during the 4th Tsinoy National Convention on Aug. 30.
Judges will name grant recipients on the same day.
Winners will receive grant funds of up to P35,000 to implement their projects over a one-year period.
